Nazi Tampons - Chloroform Attack (2021)
By Flork (contact)
It seems that the Nazi Tampons have struck a powerful chord in the right direction with regards to pure, fun punk music. The 5-song Ep from the garage Punk Rock boys from Košice packs an energy-filled punch of old-style, 1977 punk music with catchy riffs and vocals. Chloroform Attack starts us with the title track, a short and snotty tune of large proportions with great guitars that use bar chords on the higher notes. These guys are definitely tight, and it’s apparent that they practise well together while having loads of fun at the same time.
It moves forward to Asfyxia, again a fast song in the style of the previous one. I love the chorus here, but can’t really make out what they are singing about. My Slovak is hardly at a native-speaker level and the hairs growing inside my ears filter out a lot sound. But no matter, punk is universal, so anyone from abroad would still be swept away by the music and style, even aging hearing-impaired farts like myself.
Videa continues to entertain, another fun tune I’d love to see live. In fact, all of the songs are amazing and don’t seem to focus on politics or the woes of the world, just good old punk rock played at its best. But wait, Zviaz ma tops it. This is an awesome melody that is complimented by the chemistry of the cool vocals. And then it’s all over with Chirurg, like finding the last piece of a puzzle and seeing the album cover come to life.
Hopefully the Nazi Tampons will put out more great tunes this year, they are definitely worth keeping an eye on.
